Long Live Ephedra
(viridis)!
![[Dividing Line Image]](images/div.gif)
The FDA's ban on ephedra specifically permits*:
- dietary supplements void of ephedrine alkaloids - the ephedra
viridis variety is known to not contain any ephedrine alkaloids
- Oriental medicine containing ephedrine alkaloids - the intent was to ban
ephedra supplements used for weight loss, not for other medical uses
- products not considered dietary supplements, tea for example - again, not
typically used for weight loss
* For the exact wording, see the FDA ban unabridged
page, (the first two links under noteworthy points are the most pertinent).
